# Verwendung der bevorzugten Speicherebene

Beim Erstellen oder Ändern eines Festplattenlaufwerks einer virtuellen Maschine (VM) in VergeOS können Benutzer eine **Bevorzugte Speicherebene**. In den meisten Fällen bleibt dies auf **Standard**, das unter **System > Systemeinstellungen > Standard-VM-Laufwerksebene**. Das Verhalten des Systems, wenn eine angegebene Ebene nicht existiert, kann jedoch unerwartet sein. So bestimmt VergeOS in solchen Fällen, welche Ebene verwendet wird:

* **Festlegen einer bevorzugten Ebene auf eine nicht vorhandene höhere Ebene**:
  * Beispiel: Wenn ein Benutzer auswählt **Ebene 3** in einem System, das nur über **Ebene 1** und **Ebene 4** Speicher verfügbar ist, versucht das System, die nächsthöhere (langsamere) Ebene auszuwählen. In diesem Fall wird das System standardmäßig auf **Ebene 4**.
* **Festlegen einer bevorzugten Ebene auf eine nicht vorhandene niedrigere Ebene**:
  * Beispiel: Wenn ein Benutzer auswählt **Ebene 3** in einem System, das nur über **Ebene 1** und **Ebene 2** Speicher, wählt das System die nächstniedrigere (schnellere) Ebene. In diesem Fall wird das System standardmäßig auf **Ebene 2**.

In beiden Szenarien stellt VergeOS sicher, dass die nächstverfügbare Ebene basierend auf der Präferenz des Benutzers ausgewählt wird.
